Technology Reigns on AEG Demonstration Site

ST. ANDREWS, NB - AEG Inc. (St. Andrews, NB) has established a demonstration site that uses advanced AEG Solutions to feed, contain and tend fish while more effectively managing site information.

"We have deployed an AEG 100MT Open Ocean Feeder and AEG Containment Systems to a commercial grow-out site located in St. Mary's Bay, Nova Scotia, Canada," explains Chris Bridger, AEG General Manager. Atlantic salmon were raised on the site in the past but it frequently experiences Winter ice that has caused equipment issues.

AEG initially entered smolt within 50 m circumference nursery nets contained within125 m circumference (40 m diameter) AEG Containment Systems, which will be used to complete the grow-out cycle. The AEG Open Ocean Feeder performs all feeding tasks and allows the site to be operated by just 3 salaried employees. Like all AEG Feeders, the Open Ocean Feeder provides the operator with an advanced water borne feed system that also has: low structural maintenance, optimized feed management, sophisticated computer applications, distance control, and social acceptance through reduction of site noise pollution. An AEG Aquaculture Service Vessel tends the site.

Prospective AEG customers are encouraged to visit the site at which time all site performance data and operations can be reviewed. Companies purchasing AEG Solutions can also use the site for staff training prior to equipment integration within their own operations.
